Uganda's maize, soybeans, fish, fruit, milk, coffee, cotton, tea and palm production have all

increased in the past three years, while exports have increased simultaneously, the New

View reported on May 21. Corn exports tripled to 1.36 million tons, generating $352 million

in foreign exchange. Uganda's agriculture minister says the increase in corn production

is largely due to the government's distribution of large quantities of seeds to farmers.

Over the past three years, the Government of Uganda has distributed more than 146,000

tons of maize seeds. Last year, rice production reached 264,000 tons, exports of nearly

527,000 tons, soybean production reached 1.2 million tons, exports of 161 million U.S.

dollars, tea production of 742,000 tons, exports of 91 million U.S. dollars, coffee production

reached 5.63 million bags, exports of 492 million U.S. dollars. Agriculture accounts for 25

per cent of Uganda's GDP, and more than 70 per cent of Ugandans work in agriculture.

Agriculture is an important driving force for ukraine's economic growth.

Uganda's agricultural production environment in the "East African

grain silo" is quite good, and the government gives investors a lot of

incentives in agriculture, and Uganda's agricultural development
